Mihaela OPREA received her MSc degree in Computer Science from University Politehnica Bucharest in 1990 and her PhD degree in Automated Systems from University Petroleum-Gas of Ploiesti in 1996. Currently, she is a full professor at the Informatics Department of the University Petroleum-Gas of Ploiesti. Her main research interests include pattern recognition algorithms, machine learning, knowledge modeling, applications of multi-agent systems and artificial intelligence techniques in various domains such as environmental protection, engi-neering, and education. She has published 10 books and over 70 papers in the field of artificial intelligence in international journals, and in the proceedings of international conferences and workshops.
